First Church Oasis - Online Bulletin Board

Our online bulletin board, Palo Alto First UMC Oasis, helps connect members with other members through posting opportunities to help -- such as rides to church, post-surgery meal support, and job offers.

It is a private network within an online tool called MOMO Local.

To join, visit www.firstpaloalto.com/oasis and sign up, creating your own password. You'll then need to enter a secret code to join our network; contact the Church Office 650-323-6167 for this information.

Online Prayer Requests

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

If you have a prayer request, you can now submit it online to our pastors. All prayer requests are held in confidence.

We are in need of stewards for both of our coffee fellowships (Snack-N-Chat and Sacred Grounds) on Sunday mornings

You can sign up to bring goodies OR to help with kitchen duties (or both!)

Altar Flowers

You are invited to sign up to sponsor the altar flowers for Sunday worship in memory, honor, or celebration of a loved one or event.

The cost is $70.

Sign Up to Help Upstream

Help make Upstream happen.

MUSICIANS: Play an instrument? Sing? Interested in helping us shape worship? Yes, there are auditions, but don’t be too worried; potential and a servant attitude are most important to us, and we work folks in slowly and in rotation according to their gifts and availability. Rehearsals are on Friday evenings.

OTHER CREATIVE TYPES: Do you dance? Decorate? Take pictures? Monkey around with tech stuff? Do drama? Read aloud? There’s a place for you on our creative team!

I’M NOT CREATIVE BUT I’D LOVE TO HELP: You betcha! Introvert, extrovert, cook, roadie, prayer partner, happy behind-the-scenes or leading boldly — there is a place for you. Come help us start something new!

Become A Member of First Church

We invite you to become a member of the First United Methodist Church of Palo Alto.

If you're considering membership, you are invited to a time of conversation at one of our Pastors. They are happy to answer your questions about church membership as well as sharing the ways we will equip you for a deeper experience of membership.

Members are received in three ways:

• By profession of faith and baptism
• By letter of transfer from another United Methodist Church
• By letter of transfer from another Christian Church OR by reaffirmation
of faith when a letter of transfer is not appropriate/possible.
